Bio

London based director Chris Balmond first picked up a camera at age 13 to make a comedy-horror film with friends, The Blender (we can only imagine!) was his first step into the world of writing and directing. As an adult he has worked on all sides of the creative process, starting from TV production, then on to creativity at the renowned agency Red Bee Media (creative antenna for the BBC). During Chris’ time there as a copy writer he won many awards, and worked alongside some of the biggest names in British comedy and televsion. Back to his first love of directing, Chris began to direct trailers for TV shows through Red Bee, then moved on to commercials. His excellent skills for casting and ability to obtain authentic and hilarious performances has gained him industry acclaim, and a few more awards. His knack for comedy and eye for casting set him on the road to becoming one of London’s most sought after directors. Chris has a superb talent for achieving a raw and authentic humour in his work, keeping us laughing with his quirky, cheeky and genuinely clever approach to his films. In his spare time Chris enjoys playing guitar (badly), and as his next professional challenge he would be love direct the sequel to Twins, same cast plus Hugh (Triplets!).
