Bio

Bonasia, (1991, Martina Franca, Italy), is a multidisciplinary artist which mainly works with photography and motion. After his education at CFP Bauer in Milano, he has been first experimenting in photography, reportage, and street photography and later in fashion, directing and shooting short films and stills campaigns for big names in fashion and design, such as Gucci, Koché, Rochas, Swarovski, Nike, Esteé Lauder, Kartell, Missoni, Vogue Italia, and many others. Bonasia often creates work using an aleatoric process, searching for stories that are unexpected, where the euphoria and joy meet hunger and nostalgia. His photos are characterized by the use of everyday life subjects and objects in a provincial middle-class environment, in which recognition plays an important role. His works feature coincidental, accidental, and unexpected connections which make it possible to see from a different angle the history of design, pop culture, and social history. Bonasia currently lives and works in Paris.
